About Greg Saltzman
Dispute resolution work
Since 2008, employers and unions have repeatedly chosen Greg Saltzman as:
- A grievance arbitrator for both the public and private sectors,
- An interest arbitrator to decide new contract terms for public-safety employees, and
- A fact finder to recommend new contract terms for other public employees.
His cases have involved a variety of unions, including the Teamsters, the United Auto Workers, the National Education Association, AFSCME, and police unions.
Greg Saltzman has issued grievance awards in both discipline cases and contract interpretation cases. His grievance awards have been delivered to the parties only and have not been published, unlike his interest arbitration awards and fact-finding reports (which are public records of the Michigan Employment Relations Commission).
Greg Saltzman’s background as an economist strengthens his analysis in interest arbitration and fact finding. His background in labor relations and human resource management informs his decisions in discipline and discharge grievance cases.
